As our showroom transformation continues, the spaces beginning to take shape reveal something important about the way we design today. Whilst kitchens remain at the heart of many homes, modern living demands thoughtful solutions beyond the kitchen itself.
One such space is the boot room.
Often overlooked, it is perhaps one of the hardest-working rooms in the home. It is the point of arrival and departure, where coats are shrugged off, muddy boots are abandoned, school bags gather, dog leads hang, and the realities of everyday life unfold. Without careful consideration, hallways become storage rooms and intended storage spaces soon begin to work against the people living in them.
For us, this is where intelligent design begins.
The most successful interiors balance practicality with beauty; spaces that work hard behind the scenes whilst remaining visually considered. Whether a client requires a dedicated dog room complete with washing facilities, a utility room designed around country living, or simply somewhere to organise the comings and goings of a busy household, every solution begins by understanding how the space will be used.
It was this thinking that informed the latest addition to our evolving showroom.
As we began reimagining the showroom as a Chamber home, rather than simply a collection of displays, it felt only natural to start at the beginning, with the entrance. Where visitors were once greeted by our freestanding bar, they will now be welcomed by a bespoke boot room display.
Finished in Little Greene’s invisible Green and complete with tongue-and-groove detailing, the cabinetry demonstrates how practical spaces need not compromise on detail. The same level of consideration continues internally, with parting bead detailing carried through to the drawer boxes. A fully operational library ladder, soon to be installed, will run the full length of the cabinetry, providing access to upper storage whilst introducing a feature that is every bit as functional as it is aesthetic.
No two households are the same, so neither are the spaces we create. We design around children, pets, hobbies, collections and routines, tailoring every detail to the people who use it. Whether contemporary or traditional, understated or characterful, our furniture is crafted to complement both the architecture of the home and the lives unfolding within it.
Whilst still a work in progress, the display will soon be dressed to reflect the realities of everyday living. The coats, boots, and belongings that are no stranger to the entrance of any home, will complete the space, demonstrating how thoughtful storage can bring order to life’s inevitable chaos.
Working within an active showroom has also provided a timely reminder that craftsmanship is not measured solely by the finished result. The process in getting there matters just as much. Careful planning, clear communication and respect for the surrounding space are integral to every project we undertake, whether in our showroom or within a client’s home.
That philosophy extends all the way through to installation. Unlike some, all our furniture is installed exclusively by Chamber-employed fitters who work with our cabinetry every day and understand every detail of its construction. From the first design conversation through to final installation, every stage is handled with the same care and attention to detail, ensuring that your experience reflects the values and craftsmanship that have long defined Chamber Furniture and which we take great pride in.
Every Chamber Furniture project begins with a conversation.
